Civil Engineer - Nuclear Projects

Schedule: 4x10s (40 hrs./week) | Some OT required during outages
We're hiring Civil Engineers to support a major long-term license renewal project at a nuclear facility. If you're passionate about designing critical infrastructure and ready to make a real impact in nuclear energy, this is a fantastic opportunity to help extend the life of a power plant through modern, compliant, and innovative civil engineering.
This is a long-term contract role with occasional travel (monthly if non-local, limited annually if local) and occasional outage support.
Top 3 Must-Have Skills:
- Structural design experience (steel/concrete) for supports, foundations, junction boxes, etc.
- Familiarity with ACI, ASCE, ASME (lifting and rigging standards)
- Seismic analysis and component mounting design experience
Soft Skills Matter:
You'll collaborate across disciplines - so strong communication, problem-solving, and attention to documentation detail are key. Proactivity and stakeholder engagement are highly valued here.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Finite Element Modeling
- Experience as a Responsible Engineer at a nuclear facility
- Familiarity with Mathcad, GTStrudl, STAAD, ANSYS
- Experience with NRC regulations or Nuclear Standard Design Process
Project Overview:
You'll be part of the Subsequent License Renewal (SLR) initiative - extending plant operations to 80 years through critical upgrades and infrastructure modernization. This role is central to the future of nuclear energy and regulatory excellence.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's in Civil Engineering (required)
- PE license or Master's degree (preferred)
- 5+ years of relevant engineering experience
- Strong analytical and documentation skills
