2nd Shift Welder Job Description Join a dynamic team specializing in the manufacturing of trailers for military and commercial applications. This role is crucial due to a significant contract extending through 2035. As a 2nd Shift Welder, you will be responsible for fitting parts to print and MIG welding according to weld symbols on drawings. You will utilize tools such as micrometers, calipers, and tape measures for quality checks and may use grinders or sanders to refine welds. All welds undergo inspection by a quality inspector, and certification will be provided upon hiring. Maintaining high-quality standards for the Department of Defense is essential. Responsibilities Fit parts to print and perform MIG welding using weld symbols on drawings. Conduct quality checks using micrometers, calipers, and tape measures. Use grinders or sanders to polish welds as required. Ensure all welds meet quality standards and undergo inspection. Uphold high-quality standards for Department of Defense projects. Essential Skills 2+ years of MIG welding experience on mild steel. Ability to read blueprints and weld symbols. Experience with TIG welding and fabrication. Additional Skills & Qualifications Proficiency in TIG welding. Experience working with aluminum. Why Work Here? Work Environment The work environment is friendly and community-oriented, with a mix of farmers and former farmers. The facility consists of two buildings: an older, slightly louder shop for steel welding and a newer, cleaner shop for assembly and TIG/aluminum welding. The 2nd shift operates from 3:45 PM to 1:45 AM, Monday to Thursday, with potential overtime opportunities. Training on the 1st shift is required for at least one week. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Clintonville, Wisconsin. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr.
