HTI is working with a Tier 1 automotive supplier and one of the largest employee-owned companies in North America. With the new facility in Spartanburg, SC now operational, we're building a best-in-class maintenance team to support our high-tech, robotics-driven production lines. This is your chance to be part of something from the startand grow with it. The Industrial Electrician will be on 3rd Shift (training on 1st shift). Pay range is from $30.50 - $40.00 Per Hour + $1.00 Per Hour Shift Differential (pay based on experience). In addition, a sign-on bonus is paid out over the course of 6 months.
What You'll Do:
Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, industrial equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools consistent with local and national codes.
Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
Inspect electrical systems, industrial equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, meg-ohm meter, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes
Direct and train apprentices to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment including oscilloscopes, ammeters, and test lamps.
Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment, such as motors.
Perform business management duties such as maintaining records and files, preparing reports and ordering supplies and equipment.
Repair or replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools
Work from ladders, scaffolds, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
Run EMT, Sealtite, or Rigid (as required by code) conduit up to 3'' inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.
What You Need To Have:
Must be able to troubleshoot electrical malfunctions in equipment and related components, diagnosing and correcting the problems quickly to avoid production delays.
Must be able to install electrical conduit and devices, performing all work from prints or general direction according to National Electrical Code and handle all other assignments associated with the electrical trade (mounting of electrical boxes, brackets, controls, switches, and safety hardware, etc.).
Must be able to perform electrical controls work with a PLC (revise or improve) with guidance from a Controls Engineer.
Requires the ability to work in elevated position (from lifts, etc.).
Must have a strong mechanical / electrical aptitude and working knowledge of electrical machine components, electronic circuits and pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Must be able to read electrical schematics and understand electrical principals and codes.
Must have a working knowledge of electrical meters and instruments such as brush recorders, multi-function meters, and programmable controls and associated equipment. Good computer skills are very important.
Must know and follow established safety procedures including a working knowledge of OSHA & MIOSHA including but not limited to Energy Control and Arc Flash hazards.
