Job Description:

General Assembly is hiring for a creative, experienced and self-motivated Senior Interior Architect. The Senior Architect will help lead a design team and also work directly with the Partners.

Responsibilities:

Work closely with Partners to develop project design direction

Manage Design Team including Junior Designer and Design Intern.

Attend meetings with Partners and lead Client coordination

Provide guidance and recommendations to clients throughout the design process.

Produce Client Presentations with the design team, for approval by partners.

Receive feedback from Partners and delegate tasks to the design team as necessary.

Source furniture, fabrics, and furnishings to review with Partners.

Work with the design team to generate Autocad drawings through the Pre-Design, Schematic Design and Design Development phases of the project.

Produce CD Sets for Partner approval

Work with Project Manager to develop and meet project schedule and deadlines.

Communicate on a regular basis with client or client representatives about project status, client questions, and coordination.

Coordinate with Project Manager during the CA phase for changes to project design and scope and provide SK or Revisions as needed.

Job Requirements:

Strong Aesthetic Style and Perspective with understanding of materials and finishes..

Degree in Interior Architecture, Interior Design or Architecture

Minimum 5-8 years of experience in the interior design field, managing all aspects of a design project with at least 4 years in the high-end residential market

Exceptional skills in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop)

Thorough knowledge of Construction Documentation

Experience with developing custom Millwork, upholstery and furniture details

Experience working independently with Clients

Ability to prioritize design details and meet deadlines

Experience with managing a Design Team

Extensive knowledge of industry vendors and sources

Be willing to travel to job sites in the NYC metropolitan area and as needed to sites in other parts of the country

Self-motivated and detail-oriented professional, who is comfortable taking on independent responsibilities

Compensation: Annual Salary + Benefits shown below
