Kolbert Building is hiring a highly skilled lead carpenter with 5+ years experience. Please email resume or work history including references.

Expectations: Oversee active projects including maintaining schedule and budget, client management, subcontractor communication and progress, and field crew efficiency and productivity. The lead is an organized carpenter who establishes and enforces high quality building standards for air sealing/insulation and water management to minimize warranty work and build long-lasting structures. Project lead will have all required safety certifications, take initiative to solve project problems as needed, be willing and able to teach field crew, and verify quality control in regards to structure, building envelope, inspections, finish details, and building performance standards.

Precon: Review plans, contract and estimate/budget prior to signing, submit permit applications as needed, coordinate with production manager to schedule out crew and subs across multiple jobs

Production: Maintain schedule and crew assignments to ensure efficiency; lead, oversee, and evaluate crew, give feedback and teach as needed to reach Kolbert Building project goals and standards; develop and adjust production processes as needed; schedule and attend inspections and disseminate pertinent information, collect payment from client and pass on to general manager.

Daily: Maintain safe clean jobsite, good client/neighbor relationships and expectations including communication with client as needed during appropriate times, coordinate materials and jobsite inventory with production manager, oversee tool and equipment purchase and maintenance

Warranty/CO: Ensure QC in all aspects of building process, document and escalate change orders requested by client to PM immediately. This reduces call backs and last minute changes.

Carpentry: As needed
