Job Summary:
Performs duties to start up, shut down, adjust and operate annealing furnace to anneal tubing. Receives direction from shift Supervisor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Starts up and shuts down the furnace and atmosphere generator.
- Understands and can perform all EMERGENCY PROCEDURES.
- Monitors atmosphere generator recognizes improper atmosphere conditions and takes appropriate corrective actions.
- Loads product onto and unloads product from furnace conveyor using the overhead crane.
- Confirms that tubing presented to the furnace conforms to the order.
- Accurately enters product tags and production records into the Apollo System.
- Monitors temperatures and speed controls to ensure quality and maximum through put.
- Adjust Convecoller dampers to achieve desirable product surface and straightness.
- Directs furnace assistant, when assigned, in a coordinated effort to efficiently operate the annealing furnace.
- Revers concerns about quality or equipment conditions to the shift Supervisor/Foreman.
- When necessary, use common hand tools.
- Communicates with other shifts regarding the status of operations and equipment.
- Assists maintenance repairmen in preventative or repair of the furnace.
- Must be available for overtime as required.
- Maintain a CLEAN, ORGANIZED and SAFE work area.
- Various other duties as directed by shift Supervisor.

Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements:
- Qualified Material Handler and forklift certified.
- Furnace Assist for minimum of 60 days.
- Ability to handle physical requirements.
