Skilled Carpenter Job Description Join our team as a Carpenter, where you will engage in both new construction and remodeling projects. Your tasks will include steel stud framing, hanging and installing doors and windows, as well as managing casework, cabinets, and hardware installations. Responsibilities Work on new construction and remodeling projects. Perform steel stud framing. Hang and install doors and windows. Handle casework and cabinet installations. Install hardware. Essential Skills 2-3 years of residential or 2 years of commercial carpentry experience (framing, windows & doors, trim, hardware, etc.) Ability to read a tape measurer Valid driver's license Proficiency in carpentry, trim, finish work, concrete, metal stud, hand tool usage, and blueprint reading Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in working on banks, churches, public projects, convenience stores, manufacturing buildings, multi-family units, offices, and retail projects Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in small to medium-sized new builds, remodels, and additions, including schools, gyms, churches, restaurants, warehouses, and convenience stores. Engage in commercial construction jobsites with multiple contractors collaborating. Expect a dirty and dusty environment, working outdoors and mostly indoors during winter. Work hours are Monday to Friday, from 6:30 AM to 4 PM, with minimal weekend requirements. Meet at the shop in the morning, as company trucks depart at 6:29 AM. Ensure to arrive 10-15 minutes early to avoid being left behind. Join a team of 55 employees, typically working with one other carpenter on-site. Dress code includes jeans, boots, and a t-shirt. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
