Carpentry Technician Job Description We are seeking a skilled Commercial Finish and Rough Carpenter who ideally has the ability to perform casing, trim work, and window jamb extensions, along with the installation of door lock sets. This role involves working on various projects in the Ames area, including significant projects at ISU this summer. The position requires reliability, and candidates should be prepared for long days and some Saturdays during the summer. Skilled carpenters are expected to have 2+ years of experience in performing rough and finish carpentry and general tasks as required by the superintendent. Responsibilities Perform rough and finish carpentry tasks as required by the superintendent. Complete casing, trim work, and window jamb extensions. Install door lock sets efficiently. Work on commercial construction sites across Ames, Huxley, Ankeny, and the Des Moines metro area. Ensure reliability in attendance and quality of work. Essential Skills 2+ years of experience in commercial carpentry. Proficiency in carpentry, framing, and commercial construction. Skill in trim work, casing, and metal stud work. Ability to install doors and windows, including lock sets. Experience in drywall installation. Additional Skills & Qualifications 1-2 years of commercial carpentry experience.
