B&N is looking for a Traffic Engineer in our Boise office to support traffic analysis and design throughout the Pacific Northwest. Come collaborate with some of the top transportation experts in the industry, participate in production of traffic design, perform traffic studies, and develop and prepare project deliverables. This position will help mentor junior level traffic staff and support a robust regional traffic group in a growing office that delivers local project work and supports industry leading projects nationwide.
B&N Traffic Engineer Responsibilities
Work as part of a project team, collaborating with industry leaders in transportation
Development of signal, signing and striping, and traffic control plans
Lead studies and capacity analysis projects
Prepare traffic impact studies and traffic analysis for ITD, local Idaho agencies, and clients throughout the Pacific Northwest
Develop skills in complete traffic engineering and technical ability
Mentor junior staff in traffic analysis and design
Engage with the transportation industry to identify marketing opportunities and build strategic business development relationships
Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited civil engineering program
5+ years of related civil engineering experience
PE Certification Required, PTOE desired
ITD or local PNW experience preferred
Project management experience desired
Excellent communication skills and willingness to collaborate
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HCS is required
Familiarity with traffic software such as Microstation and/or CAD, TransModeler is preferred
Strong interest in transportation engineering and motivated to improve the efficiency and safety of transportation systems
Self-motivated and adaptable, including the capability to learn virtual collaboration tools
