Job Title: HVAC Technician
Responsible for delivering effective, efficient, and timely service to multiple buildings within the campus. Technicians will perform a variety of HVAC and refrigeration work. EMCOR HVAC Technicians perform preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance, troubleshoot and service commercial and industrial HVAC systems. HVAC Technicians perform tests and analysis of data to assure the proper functioning of equipment and provide recommendations as appropriate. Techs will understand and work on the equipment, the controls, and sequence of operation for a variety of HVAC systems. Has strong communication skills and can foster strong relationships with customers, vendors, and team members. The technician must have the ability to “flow to work” as emergencies sometime disrupt the workflow. Regular hours: M-F 7:00AM to 3:30 PM. Overtime is required sometimes and is paid at time and a half after 40 hours. On call rotation is required for one week, once every 8 weeks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Safety The technician must believe in working safely and follow all safety procedures, compliance, and protocols. Pre task planning is required before any job is started. Must complete OSHA 10 training with-in first 90 days of employment. No accidents are acceptable. hazards.
PM HVACR Systems Perform preventive maintenance tasks on all HVACR equipment. PM activities include measurement of wear, replacement of expendables (i.e. belts, hoses, fluids, filters, etc.) and inspection/evaluation of operating characteristics such as speeds, pressures, vacuum, or vibration.
Service HVACR Systems General repair on all HVACR systems, including package units, split units, refrigeration units, large air handlers running chilled & hot water, and steam.
Install new HVACR Equipment Work with millwrights to remove old HVACR equipment, install new HVACR equipment, and start up HVACR equipment.
Refrigerant Compliance Safe and EPA compliant use of refrigerants, including monthly written reporting.
Qualifications:
Education
High School Diploma (or GED), Vocational or Industry Trade School Certificate
Business Experience
5-7 years experience in HVACR related work
Licenses/Certifications
EPA Universal Certification
Technical Qualifications & Skills
Use computer, tablets and smartphones
Must be 21 years of age or older
Valid Driver's License required
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
