HVAC Technician

Pay rate: $28 - $38/hr.

Schedule: 1st shift

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, and service on commercial and industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems across multiple campus buildings.
• Conduct inspections, tests, and data analysis to ensure proper equipment function, and provide recommendations based on findings.
• Understand and work with HVAC equipment, controls, and sequences of operation, including large air handlers, refrigeration units, and steam systems.
• Ensure all work follows strict safety procedures, including pre-task planning and OSHA 10 certification within 90 days.
• Install and assist in the replacement and start-up of HVACR equipment, working alongside millwrights when needed.
• Maintain EPA-compliant refrigerant practices and complete monthly written refrigerant reports.
• Must be flexible to work emergencies, participate in an on-call rotation (one week every 8 weeks), and work overtime as needed.

Qualifications:

• Education: High School Diploma (or GED), Vocational or Industry Trade School Certificate
• Business Experience: 5-7 years of experience in HVACR related work
• Licenses/Certifications: EPA Universal Certification
• Technical Qualifications & Skills: Use computer, tablets, and smartphones
