Job Overview: Honolulu based electrical construction firm is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Estimator/Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the pre-construction phase by accurately estimating project costs and ensuring that all aspects of the project are financially viable. This position requires strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of construction management. Proficiency in estimating software tools is preferred.

Primary Responsibilities:
Review project requirements, timelines, and budgets to ensure feasibility.
Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits.
Analyze and interpret blueprints, project plans, and specifications to develop comprehensive, thorough, and accurate cost proposals.
Complete all bid documents.
Collaborate with project managers, general contractors, and suppliers to collect necessary data for accurate estimates.
Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers, securing multiple quotes.
Negotiate prices with vendors and subcontractors.
Work to refine and enhance pricing strategies and the estimating process to improve accuracy and competitiveness.
Monitor and search for opportunities and ensure timely submissions.
Monitor market trends and pricing changes.
Follow up on inquiries and maintain effective communication with clients and stakeholders.
Plan, direct, schedule, coordinate, and monitor work to achieve projects objectives, ensuring conformity with plans, specifications, contract documents, applicable local, state and federal regulatory requirements, and construction standards.
Identify, track, and resolve various issues, changes, and deficiencies.
Handles project correspondence, including but not limited to, schedules, RFI, proposals, safety/quality documents, daily reports, as-built drawings, changes, etc.
Coordinate with other project managers and supervisors to review project workload, status, and staffing requirements.

Required Education and Qualifications:
Bachelors degree required.
Minimum 3 years of experience in construction or engineering.
Understanding of the bid process, doing takeoffs, and estimating.
Understanding of construction documents including contracts, specifications, construction plans, RFIs, etc.
Ability to oversee projects from inception to completion.
Ability to plan and organize tasks, and function under pressure or time constraints.
Ability to successfully execute multiple projects and priorities.
Being organized and able to manage multiple priorities/tasks.
Strong computer skills.
Excellent problem-solving, math, and analytical skills.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Critical thinker and good listener.
An attitude and commitment to being an active participant.
Self-motivated, conscientious, positive attitude, and a team player. Ability to effectively work both independently and in a team environment.
A valid Hawaii drivers license.
Legal Authorization To work in the United State.

Preferred Qualifications:
Business development and strategic planning skills preferred.
Engineering or Physical Sciences preferred.
Knowledge of electrical estimating software preferred.

Salary & Benefits:
Starting compensation $80,000 annually, commensurate with skills, experience, and education.

Full Time Position. Weekend and night work as needed.
