First and Second Shift Welding/Fab position
At Cordele Refurbishment and Manufacturing, we provide refurbishment services to the intermodal shipping industry. Our award-winning shop located in Cordele, GA currently has openings on our second shift fabrication/welding team.
We are seeking a skilled Fabricator/Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal structures and components according to specifications. This role requires proficiency in various welding techniques, mig welding and plasma cutting experience. The Fabricator/Welder will work with a variety of materials and tools to ensure high-quality production standards.
First shift hours - 7am- 3:30pm Monday - Friday / Second shift hours - 3:30pm - 12am Monday - Friday ( these hours will change in June to 11:30am-8pm)
Duties
- Weld mild steel in vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions.
- Perform mechanical repairs to chassis (replacing axles/suspension parts)
- Operate equipment in a safe manner.
- Verify all operations have been completed and QC inspected before moving the chassis to the next work cell.
- Organize and maintain your work area.
- Maintain all the equipment in your work cell.
- Perform routine tasks as directed and under close supervision.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in fabrication and welding, with a strong understanding of metalworking processes.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, welding equipment, plasma cutters, and other machinery related to fabrication.
- Familiarity with rigging practices for safe handling of materials is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to understand and follow directions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Manual dexterity.
- Ability to pass all required drug screen and background checks.
