Daikin Applied is seeking an HVAC Engineering Operations Manager in our Jersey City office! The Engineering Operations Manager is responsible for managing sales related processes within the direct sales office (DSO). This position will lead their team in overseeing the day-to-day operations, execution of equipment, controls, parts, and services sold by the DSO, as well as work closely with the DSO's sales leaders in coordinating the project management, order fulfillment functions and financial reporting. The District Equipment Operations Manager will manage the operations team of Estimators, Project Engineers, Sales Coordinators, and Office Administrators. What you will do:
Develop, implement, communicate, enforce, and evaluate policies and procedures related to presales and post-sales order fulfillment
Manage relationships with vendors, service providers and landlord, ensuring that all items are invoiced and paid on time
Communicate customer issues within the operations team and devise ways of improving the customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints
Ensure all business units within the DSO (equipment, service, parts, and controls) have consistency and linked processes for operational excellence
Identify and resolve operational problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays through continuous improvement
Measure, analyze, and present monthly/annual revenue and gross margin forecasts
Prepare year-to-date updates on performance, booking and shipments, commission statements, and backlog summaries
Work with department managers to provide monthly reports regarding business units (forecast variances, intercompany sales, open orders)
Support the General Manager to increase operational efficiencies across business units by analyzing trends and forecasts
Analyze operational expenses against forecast & explain variances. Monitor profitability erosion and identify areas of focus/improvement
Support collections efforts and assist with follow up
Work with the General Manager and department managers to prepare an annual budget
Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practice
Respond to vendor inquiries, reconcile vendor statements, and research/correct discrepancies
Coordinate marketing activities and staff activities, including planning and execution of company and customer events
Support service operations team as needed
Manage a team of 10-12 including individual contributors team leaders with direct reports and in the project engineering, sales coordination, and estimation areas of the sales offices
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these functions
Ensure supervisory responsibilities are in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or similar field
6 - 8+ years relevant work experience
4+ years people leadership experience
Strong written and communication skills
Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external partners, vendors, etc.
Critical thinking and problem-solving ability
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
Experience with accounting and inventory software, order processing systems, project management software and contact management systems
Preferred Qualifications:
CEM certification
