Journeyman Shop Carpenter - Willing to join union after 90 days of employment

Department: Production

Reports to: Production Manager

FLSA Status: Hourly

Location: In Person

*Responsibilities*

- Read and comprehend detailed shop drawings to manufacture custom architectural woodwork on time and under budget.

- Products include, but are not limited to:

- Custom plastic laminate and wood cabinets / casework

- Custom plastic laminate countertops

- Custom desks (reception desks, nurse stations, etc)

- Custom benches, banquettes, etc.

- Wall paneling (plastic laminate, wood veneer, etc)

- Custom solid surface work (countertops, thermoforming, paneling, etc)

- Other complex custom woodworking products

- Custom painting and woodwork finishing

- Employee is not expected to be proficient in all areas, but may be cross trained

- Operate a variety of woodworking machinery and hand tools, including table saws, miter saws, routers, sanders, and others, ensuring safety guidelines are followed.

- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by performing regular cleaning and maintenance of tools, equipment, and workstations.

- Perform quality control checks on completed projects to ensure they meet Giffin Interior's high standards of craftsmanship and functionality.

- Possibly assist in the loading and unloading of materials & manage inventory.

- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot any issues that arise during the production process, making necessary adjustments to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

- Continuously strive to learn new skills and techniques to contribute to the overall success of the team.

- Other duties / responsibilities as assigned based on the needs of the company.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Education and/or Experience:

- High School Diploma, GED, or higher

- Comfortable reading and understanding architectural and shop drawings

- Three or more years' of experience pin woodworking, manufacturing, or construction preferred

Computer Requirements:

- Time tracking software (INNERGY)

- Shop drawing software (INNERGY)

- Material management software (INNERGY)

Language & Mathematical Skills:

- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, customers, and vendors.

- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; mentally, hand-and-paper, and calculator.
