Project Manager - Civil Municipal Engineering (PE Required)
Kirkland, Everett, WA or Lake Oswego, OR | Full-Time | Pacific Northwest-Based
Join a firm that's as rooted in the Pacific Northwest.
At PACE Engineers, we don't just work in the Pacific Northwest-we work for it. With offices in Kirkland and Everett, Washington, and Lake Oswego, Oregon, we serve communities across the region through smart, people-focused civil and structural engineering, planning, and surveying.
We're growing and currently looking for a Project Manager (PE Required) to join our Civil Municipal team. This is your chance to lead meaningful public infrastructure projects while working alongside a tight-knit team of creative, driven professionals who call the PNW home.
About the Role:
As a Project Manager, you'll take the lead on public works projects that shape local communities-everything from water systems and stormwater management to parks, sidewalks, and stream restoration. You'll serve as a trusted partner to our municipal clients, manage design and construction phases, and mentor talented team members.
This job focuses on achieving results that support the organization and its broader strategic goals. The person in this role must show initiative, have a competitive drive, and be able to stay focused on results, even in times of organizational change. Work in this role often involves innovation and creativity. The person in the role must make timely decisions, find practical solutions, and implement work with a sense of urgency.
The job requires getting things done quickly and handling a variety of activities. Self-assurance is critical, as is the confidence to drive results, solve problems, and inspire commitment from others. A leader in this role must be firm and goal-oriented, yet also motivating, engaging, and enthusiastic. Someone in this role can expect a need to be outgoing, build authority and communicate with poise.
Because the pace of the work is faster than average, it's critical to be able to learn quickly and thoroughly, as well as to adapt to changing conditions. Given this person's penchant for variety, they will be expected to delegate effectively to those with a proven track record for detailed and routine work. When following up, they should hold others accountable to timely, accurate results.
This job requires the ability to act independently, work with urgency, and handle various challenges with confidence. This person is expected to commit to the success of the business and hold themselves and others to a high standard of achievement.
You'll thrive here if you're passionate about making a lasting impact through public infrastructure and enjoy working in a collaborative environment where innovation and technical excellence are valued.
What You'll Be Doing:
Lead the design and project management of municipal water and sewer system improvements
Serve as the primary contact and advisor to cities, districts, and public agencies
Oversee project teams to meet schedules, budgets, and client expectations
Prepare technical reports and communicate with stakeholders and regulatory agencies
Help shape community infrastructure throughout Washington and Oregon

Must-Haves:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
PE license
10+ years of relevant utility or public infrastructure experience
Proven project management and client relationship skills
Strong background in stormwater, transportation, and utility design
