Our Engineering Mechanics and Infrastructure (EMI) team at SGH is seeking a motivated and creative engineer to join our Atlanta office. The EMI group leverages core structural engineering principles, numerical simulation, and innovative technologies to understand structural behavior and enhance structural performance. Our clients rely on their structural systems to protect critical assets, retain functionality under extreme loadings, and support novel construct/deconstruct life-cycles. In this role, you will contribute to challenging projects, particularly in the nuclear and energy sectors, while also having opportunities to support work involving buildings, bridges, pipelines, tanks, rail vehicles, rotating equipment, precision observatory structures, and other specialized infrastructure systems.

What you'll be doing:
SGH has an opening for a Senior Project Manager (SPM). This is an experienced technical manager, leadership-track, and holder position with responsibilities generally consistent with ASCE Grade V and will include the following:
In a supervisory capacity, plans, develops, coordinates, and directs a large and important engineering project or a number of small projects with manyplex features.
Supervision and guidance related largely to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters. Consults with supervisor concerning unusual problems and developments.
Supervises, coordinates, and reviews the work of a small staff of engineers and technicians, estimates workforce needs and schedules, and assigns work to meetpletion date.
Able to work with a degree of independence such that approach, results, and judgments are subject to a final review by the Principal-in-Charge without major rework.
Proven ability to prepare major reports.
In consultation with the Principal-in-Charge, develops project scope and budget, and successfully manages to time, quality, budget, and schedule goals.
Able to prepare proposals forplex assignments.
Deals directly with clients.
Able to knowledge of risk management and contract negotiation procedures.
What You'll Need:
SPMs intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields. SPMs make decisions independently on engineering problems and methods, and they represent theanization in conferences to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate work. Requires the use of advanced techniques and the modification and extension of theories, precepts, and practices of sciences and disciplines. The knowledge and expertise required for this level of work results from progressive experience.
8+ years of relevant civil engineering experience or equivalent experience in a related field.
Professional licensure required.
MS or PhD with a concentration in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field from an ABET- accredited university.
Specialized knowledge and experience with structural dynamics and earthquake engineering, especially related to applications in the nuclear industry.
Expertise in structural analysis and finite element analysis of non-building structures.
Familiarity with building design codes such as IBC, ASCE, ACI, and AISC through education or experience.
Excellent personal qualities, especially ethics and honesty. Gets along well with others and provides enthusiastic help and support when appropriate.
Good written and oralmunication skills.

Possesses abilities in areas consistent with the specific needs of SGH.
Excellent technical and professional capabilities.

The below range is a good faith estimate pursuant to applicable equal pay and pay transparency laws. The actual salary offered will be based on several factors including the candidate's experience, qualifications and work location.
Base salary is a part of SGH's industry leading Total Compensation package. Our Total Compensation package includes base salary, pay for extra hours worked, an annual discretionary bonus program, generous paid time off, and health and wellness benefits with a special emphasis on substantial SGH contributions to medical insurance premiums and SGH's Profit Sharing & 401(k) Plan.
