Could you be the full-time Mechanical Design Engineer Routing & Fitting (f/m/d) in Hennigsdorf we're looking for?
Your Future Role
2,100 colleagues from 46 countries, including 800 engineers, shape in Hennigsdorf the future of rail mobility. The locally developed, manufactured, and maintained product range includes high-speed, regional, and local trains, subways, as well as trams and light rail vehicles. Our product line Rolling Stock & Components offers products from the broadest portfolio in the rail industry. Our innovation focus is on green and smart solutions, including emission-free propulsion systems such as batteries and hydrogen. You'll report to Andrea Brose, the Domain Leader Fitting & Tubing and work alongside a dedicated and enthusiastic team.
We'll look for you to :
- Perform 3D, mechanical design annotations and 2D deliverables in compliance with QCD commitments, Metier rules and processes.
- Model and storing allocated volumes and interfaces for sub-systems / components in Digital Mock-Up.
- Perform Detailed Design on internal sub-systems.
- Fill-up attributes for each part in Digital Mock-Up (naming, material, Fire & Smoke, etc.)
- Verify consistency of digital mock-up (no clash, etc.) and compliance with requirements (allocated volumes, weight, interfaces, etc.) on the assigned scope.
- Prepare and documenting Domain Design Reviews
- Update Digital Mock-Up taking into account Change Requests.
- Check CADs' and sub-contractors Design Quality
- Realize stack-up analysis and the Bill of Material.
- Plan and piloting Mechanical/Piping Domain activities of assigned zone and related deliverables on project taking into account applicable instructions/processes and other specific Customer (internal or external) requirements.
- Apply Train Design rules, processes and tools (single-domain) and ensuring Domain deliverables quality and their acceptance by the Customer (internal or external) within committed limits.
- Manage production of deliverables in accordance with Planning targets on the Domain assigned zone.
- Design products taking into account project requirements (performances, manufacturability, serviceability, testability, etc.).
- Prepare and document Domain Design Reviews according to project schedule and following-up the main open actions.
- Check respect of Allocated volumes/interfaces (no-clashes) on internal design.
- Resolve Project issues in assigned zone.
- Report on the Mechanical/Piping Domain activities progress and alerting relevant N+1 in case of issue potentially impacting achievement of QCD commitments.
- Respect and/or allocate requirements and interfaces to Sub-Systems/equipment (Allocated volume, weight, location, preferred project part list, etc.)
- Analyse change request impacts on assigned zone and applying change if request accepted.
- Validate relevant Domain deliverables and securing planning.
- Perform quotation of engineering work-package, upon request.
- Define Project Decomposition (PBS; product breakdown structure).
- Collaborate with team lead for continuous improvement of the Domain (including REX).
