Job Description

General Expectations

Each operator is responsible for executing his process based on the plan and procedures put in place by the general foreman, coordinator, and the engineer for that shift/process. Each operator should be fully aware of what needs to be accomplished for his process, during his shift. All operators should be intimately knowledgeable about their equipment and have a thorough understanding of their processes. All operators report directly to their general shift foreman.

Basic Duties

• Execute/Take ownership for processes.
• Completely fill out procedures and datasheets (thoroughly, legibly, and accurately)
• Fill out turnover, in detail, everyday
• Fill out/assist with permits, LOTO, etc.
• Complete routine inspections on scooters, forklifts, etc.
• Be familiar with general policies and procedures
• Be familiar with the basic plant systems/utilities (jacket utilities, steam, nitrogen, air, sumps, etc.)
• Maintain area
  • Keep area organized and in good working condition
  • Verify labels on containers are complete and accurate
  • Pick up and dispose of samples
  • Bring to attention, issues with equipment and safety hazards

• Complete monthly CBTs

Essential Qualifications

• Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and written means
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Must be able to work 12 hour rotating shifts
• Demonstrated safe work practices including the usage of PPE
• Willing to work overtime and respond to call outs
• Able to work in confined spaces, high places and wear required PPE, when necessary
• Be able to lift 25-50 lb. frequently, 50-100 lbs occasionally with necessary assistance
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders frequently.
• Must be able to wear respiratory protection
• Work environment ranges from indoors to outside in varying degrees of heat and cold weather conditions
• Must be able to work in team environment

Desired Qualifications

• Degree in Process Technology
• 2years of Operator experience
• Preferred knowledge of manufacturing processes and related equipment operations, including general mechanical operation
• Preferred knowledge of computers / control systems
• Knowledge of LOTO
• Willing to serve on Emergency Response Teams
