We are seeking a skilled and detail-driven Civil Estimator with expertise in site work and grading to join our growing team. This position is ideal for someone who has hands-on experience estimating complex earthwork and civil scopes and enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You will play a critical role in developing competitive bids and supporting the execution of diverse infrastructure projects.
Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for all phases of site development projects.
Analyze construction documents, grading plans, topographical surveys, and geotechnical reports.
Perform quantity takeoffs and develop pricing for labor, materials, and equipment.
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and developers throughout the pre-construction phase.
Scope of Work Expertise
The ideal candidate should have experience estimating the following civil construction specialties:
Clearing and Grubbing: Preparing land for new construction by removing trees, shrubs, and debris.
Grading and Excavation: Ensuring solid foundations and proper drainage through precise earthmoving operations.
Utilities and Drainage Construction: Installing water, sewer, and storm systems for functional and compliant infrastructure.
Paving, Curb, and Gutter: Enhancing site accessibility and durability with precise road and sidewalk construction.
Site Clean-Up: Delivering clean, finished job sites upon project completion.
Interceptor Sewers, Collector Sewers, and Pump Stations: Building efficient sewer networks and pump stations.
Force Main and Lift Stations: Executing advanced wastewater transport and treatment systems.
Retention and Detention Ponds: Controlling stormwater runoff with aesthetically integrated drainage solutions.
Stream Bank Restoration: Stabilizing and restoring natural waterways to prevent erosion and protect surrounding land.
Qualifications
3–5+ years of experience in civil estimating , with a strong emphasis on site work and grading.
Proficient in earthwork takeoff software (e.g., Agtek, Trimble, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Excel.
Strong ability to read and interpret civil drawings, grading plans, and utility layouts.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred but not required.
