CMT / Inspector / Field Engineer
Job Description

We are seeking experienced and entry-level CMT professionals, Special Inspectors, and Geotechnical Inspectors for diverse projects in the Raleigh-Durham area. This opportunity is available for individuals who are interested in joining the profession, with current needs at Tech II and Tech III levels.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct testing, analysis, and quality control of materials.
  • Perform grain size analysis, Atterberg Limit testing, moisture-density testing, ASTM and NCDOT hydrometers, and laboratory resistivity testing for soils.
  • Perform aggregate grain size analysis, specific gravity of fine and coarse aggregates, and dry rodded unit weight for aggregates.
  • Carry out compressive and flexural strength testing of concrete cylinders, beams, and cubes, produce laboratory trial batches, sample and test fresh unit weight, air content, and make samples, and observe batch plant operations for Portland Cement Concrete.
  • Execute burn and gradation analysis, maximum theoretical testing (Rice), and specific gravity testing for Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA).
  • Perform absorption and compressive strength testing on masonry blocks.
Essential Skills
  • 2-3+ years of experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in materials inspections and construction materials testing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • ACI certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with ICC, I.C.C., and Nicet certifications.
Work Environment

The role involves working both in the field and laboratory settings. You will be part of a team known for its expertise in geotechnical and construction materials testing within the Raleigh market.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $28.00/hr.
