A client of Insight Global that is leader in the activated carbon industry located in Moon Township, PA is expanding their team and looking to hire on a Principal Project Manager with a background leading Capital Projects including from an EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) perspective. This Principal Project Manager will lead one or more major capital improvement projects with a combined portfolio of up to $40 million. The Principal Project Manager has accountability for all aspects of projects beginning with scope definition and justification, and extending through design, construction, and start-up. Project responsibilities include planning and control of scope, schedule, budget, and quality. Additionally, this individual will ensure all projects satisfy financial reporting requirements.

The Principal Project Manager may also direct Project Engineers and/or subcontractors as part of a team for a specific large project

Duties & Responsibilities Include:

Generate project scope and justification.

Develop execution plans using internal and external resources.

Lead the team in creating technical and equipment specifications.

Maintain and control project schedules and budgets.

Coordinate with stakeholders to implement best practices.

Oversee construction activities and manage subcontractors.

Establish and maintain project documentation.

Complete the project close-out process.

Ensure compliance with environmental and government regulations.

Communicate effectively with Manufacturing, Leadership, and Procurement teams.

Adhere to company policies and safety programs.

Track project costs using SAP Project Systems.

Provide status, cost, and financial reports throughout the project.

Identify and assess asset value upon project completion.

Ensure a fair procurement process and approve payments.

Prepare bid documents for subcontracted work.

Monitor supplier compliance with specifications and schedules.

Domestic travel: (1 week onsite at Project with all travel covered. Remaining 3 weeks either working remotely or in office at HQ)

Skills and Requirements

Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent from four-year college or university

10+ years of experience as a Project Manager leading capital projects within heavy industrial plant/facilities manufacturing environments

Experienced managing multiple projects and portfolio up to $40mil. preferred

Experience with EPC (Engineering, Procurement, & Construction) Contracts/Projects

Extensive experience in managing engineering and construction contractors

2+ years of supervisory experience is preferred
