Mechanical Design Engineer - Machine Fixture Design

Location: Midland, Michigan Area

Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire

Our client, a well-established manufacturer based in Midland, Michigan, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong background in machine fixture design. Key Responsibilities:

Develop and design mechanical components and systems using SolidWorks and related CAD/CAM software

Apply principles of physics, mechanics, and materials science to engineering challenges

Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to bring designs from concept to production

Participate in problem-solving initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement efforts

Interpret specifications, technical drawings, and customer requirements

Support prototype development and testing as needed

Qualifications:

Solid foundation in mechanical engineering principles, including machine tools, fluid mechanics, and materials

Solid Machine Fixture Design a must

Proficiency in SolidWorks and CAD/CAM design software

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; able to work effectively in a team environment

Hands-on experience through internships, co-ops, or project work is highly valued

Creativity, attention to detail, and a self-motivated attitude are essential

Education and Experience:

A degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is preferred, but candidates with equivalent experience will be considered
