Bell Construction is a family owned and operated business founded in 1984. Over the last 4 decades, we have provided general contracting and construction management services for both new construction and renovation of commercial and industrial projects. Our projects are normally located within a 75 mile radius of Little Rock, AR. Superintendents are Bell Construction's representatives assigned responsibility for the day-to-day project operations on the construction site. These requirements include ensuring safety and quality control requirements are met, as well as ensuring onsite production, budget, and scheduling requirements are maintained. Bell Construction offers : Medical and dental insurance Dependent voluntary medical and dental Paid holidays and vacation Life insurance Career training and educational opportunities Typical Duties : Superintendent duties to include (but not limited to): Ensure Bell Construction and OSHA safety standards are met by employees, subcontractors, and other visitors to the site. Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly jobsite. Manage day-to-day operations of the project to ensure quality control, scheduling, budgeting, and on-site production requirements are met. Daily inspection of project site to monitor compliance with building codes, safety, and contract document compliance. Act as company liaison between the project Owner and A & E team to ensure that all work complies with the plans, specifications, or other contract documents. Incorporate any changes in contract documents into the project, and ensure all tradespeople and subcontractors are installing work as per the latest changes, as well as maintaining record documents on the site at all times. Review all submittals, generate and/or incorporate all RFI's to ensure timely and accurate responses and execution of work. Coordinate work of different trades and subcontractors. Report all issues and project delays to the Project Manager or Company Officers and propose resolution plans with minimum impact to project success. Create short look-ahead project schedules to proactively identify issues with minimum impact to overall schedule. Maintain daily logs of weather, construction progress, manpower logs, timekeeping and cost code records, records of phone calls and emails, inspections, subcontractor communication, and other project related items into company project management software via mobile device or laptop. Inspect and/or document all required safety, quality control, and results from A & E or code inspections or other applicable regulations into Daily Log. Establish crews and supervise all self-performed labor and trade work to ensure proper productivity and quality requirements. Perform miscellaneous duties as requested. Requirements and qualifications : Prior superintendent experience required. Construction or construction related degree preferred but not required. Valid driver's license and good driving record are required to meet insurance requirements. Must be able to pass background check to ensure that entrance onto military bases and schools can be achieved. Good written and oral communication skills. Maintain a positive professional attitude. Ability to handle complaints, settle disputes, and resolve conflict in a professional manner. Technologically capable to use company project management software (training will be provided). Physical Demand Frequently walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach overhead. Climb and maintain balance on scaffolds and ladders. Use hands to reach for, touch, handle, and manipulate objects and materials. Lift and carry objects weighing occasionally up to 50 pounds.
