Summary:
The Superintendent - Foundations - Solar is responsible for coordinating craft, and crews and preparing a daily work plan for solar pile installation. This role focuses on coordinating the site construction schedule, and execution plan, and managing the daily issues involved during the construction of the solar generation project. This position coordinates all site construction, Foundation activities and supervises all Foundation field personnel as required to successfully complete the solar project safely, on schedule, and within budget. The expectation is that the Foundations Superintendent will work diligently to build a safe, high-quality profitable solar project.
Requirements:
- Maintains a strong understanding of pile driving activities on the project.
- Assists in the work plan process helping to develop pile driving templates, size equipment and quantities, develops crew sizing to achieve required production rates
- Maintains a thorough understanding of pile driving equipment and pile driving means and methods.
- Works with the Project Construction Manager or Project Manager to recruit, hire, and develop our pile driving craft labor work force.
- Ensures site is maintaining equipment through inspection processes and required preventative maintenance.
- Provides excellence in the management and delivery of the project, in-line with the clients expectations.
- Maintains positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and other employees.
- Manages landowner expectations, concerns, and Right of Way access.
- Provides information about Mechanical activities, including accurate install rates, projected task completion, and hazards to the Project Superintendent and Project Manager.
- Schedules and ensures appropriate staffing for daily Foundation activities with employees.
- Identifies potential schedule changes, workflow, and staffing issues and communicates this to the Project Superintendent and Project Manager.
- Maintains Foundations portion of the construction schedule, identifies upcoming issues, and solves problems.
- Orders materials and schedules inspections as necessary throughout the process.
- Understands the project plans, specifications, and Owner requirements i nvolved with Foundation schedules and supervises completion of a Mechanical final punch list.
- Ensures that all tasks under your direction is installed to design drawing and specifications required.
- Ensures site prep work is executed as per contracts, design, and specifications.
- Inputs into the execution of overall construction plan.
- Reviews the engineer's drawings prior to beginning mechanical construction to ensure that the project can be built in a safe and reliable manner.
- Builds and maintains relationships with Client, IE, local AHJ, and Project team as needed.
- Assures to communicate any and all schedule updates to the Site team.
- Understands the project, not only from a technical standpoint but also from the perspective of the contract requirements.
- Interacts with others. Understands how the estimator developed the estimate. Discusses with the Discipline Superintendents, vendors, and EOR.
- Physically creates the schedule based upon access to a scheduling software.
- Develops activity codes.
- Specifies subcontractor networks.
- Drafts the logic diagram.
- Coordinates all field functions, including the scheduling of any required outages that are necessary with any utility/off-takers.
- Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
- Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct, and Company Policies & Procedures.
- Reports and certifies accurate installed quantities to the project engineering on a daily and weekly basis.
- Provides a weekly true up of the tooling that the Foreman and crews are utilizing.
- Ensures One-call updates are accurate with current Excavation Permits.
- Manages quality control program to ensure processes are implemented according to the design of the project and are consistent.
- Oversees the management of QA/QC for construction.
- Oversees the management of design change notices from PE.
- Oversees and performs spot checks of the Project job books (these records need to be populated as the project moves forward.)

- Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action. Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED required.
- 5+ years' experience in construction field completing and supervising pile installation and equipment, required.
- Knowledge of equipment safety and maintenance
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office software
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
- Problem-solving abilities with the Machines and the GPS systems used
- Knowledge of both Stringline and GPS Install Methods
- Ability to Calibrate machine and GPS Controls

Anticipated base salary range: $98,000 - $122,000

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible.
