THE POSITION
Washington County's Department of Land Use and Transportation (LUT) is currently hiring two (2) Project Managers to join their Capital Projects Services (CPS) Division!
The Position
At Washington County, you are given opportunities and challenges to embrace your potential and achieve your personal best every day. The Project Manager defines and coordinates work activities associated with project development and construction of assigned capital improvement projects within Washington County. These projects include roads, bikeways, bridges and sidewalks, and all are intended to improve safety, reduce bottlenecks, and address transportation demands. Successful candidates may manage all aspects or parts of transportation projects, including grant writing, budget development and tracking, scheduling, design, permitting, procurement, and construction activities.

Someone who can define and coordinate work activities associated with project development and construction of capital improvement projects within Washington County
Experienced in reviewing plans, developing budgets, and leading a team to meet goals
Experienced with grant writing and applications
Organized, articulate, and attentive to detail
Comfortable with current technology and learning new software
Comfortable working independently
Someone with strong communication skills,
Interested in being involved with a variety of projects
Someone who can review project site conditions prior to, during, and after completion of construction to determine field conditions and compliance of work with plans and specifications
Someone with an understanding of permits and regulations that impact transportation projects

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
Four (4) years of professional project management experience that includes leading and managing discrete projects from initiation and planning through closure and evaluation; OR
A Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, surveying, environmental, transportation planning, public administration or a closely related field may substitute for three years of experience, AND one (1) year of professional project management experience that includes leading and managing discrete projects from initiation and planning through closure and evaluation; OR
An Oregon Project Management Associate (OPMA) certification, AND three (3) years of professional project management experience that includes leading and managing discrete projects from initiation and planning through closure and evaluation; OR
A Project Management Professional Certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
