GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY
The Mechanic Foreman is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the maintenance and repair activities of the AIS Infrastructure fleet of vehicles and equipment. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and reliability of the company's construction and industrial services projects. The Mechanic Foreman must possess a strong knowledge of vehicle and equipment mechanics and adhere to AIS Infrastructure's safety standards and protocols.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and coordinate the work of mechanics and technicians in the maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment.
- Plan and prioritize maintenance activities to ensure minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in vehicles and equipment.
- Perform complex repairs and maintenance tasks on a variety of vehicles and equipment, including heavy machinery, trucks, and specialized construction equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including parts usage, work performed, and equipment status.
REQUIRED JOB SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Strong knowledge of vehicle and equipment mechanics, including engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Ability to lead and supervise a team of mechanics and technicians effectively.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical certification or degree in automotive or heavy equipment mechanics is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the automotive or heavy equipment maintenance industry.
- In-depth knowledge of vehicle and equipment maintenance best practices and industry standards.
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools, equipment, and software used in vehicle and equipment maintenance.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT & CONDITIONS
- The Mechanic Foreman will primarily work in a well-equipped maintenance facility but may occasionally be required to work on job sites or in outdoor environments.
- Potential hazards include working with heavy machinery, chemicals, and exposure to loud noises.
- The job may involve physical demands such as lifting heavy parts, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
- The work schedule may vary and may include weekends, evenings, or overtime as needed.
- Limited travel may be required to visit job sites or attend training programs.

- Proficiency in using computer software and diagnostic tools relevant to vehicle and equipment maintenance.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with team members and supervisors.

- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Strong customer service skills to interact with internal stakeholders and external clients.
PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Physical requirements may include lifting heavy parts (up to 50 pounds), bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
- The job may involve mental demands such as working under pressure, managing multiple priorities, and making quick decisions.
- The Mechanic Foreman may be required to work in various weather conditions, depending on the job site location.
