The Project Manager - Transitions provides project management and oversight of all school relocations related to capital projects. The Project Manager will manage and oversee all work related to school relocations into and out of swing spaces or permanent facilities, including obtaining and coordinating vendors. The Project Manager will coordinate and manage activities with a wide variety of stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition between locations. This role requires a unique combination of analytical, logistical, and project management skills.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinates with internal and external school departments and vendors, including move vendors, IT and copier vendors, construction project managers, contractors, school staff, principals, academic office staff, etc.
  • Conducts meetings with staff and vendors as needed.
  • Assists with development of to/from move coordination.
  • Coordinates school purging process.
  • Reviews spaces with school staff and academics departments, related to how move coordination will occur, as it pertains to storage spaces, libraries, classrooms, athletic equipment, etc.
  • Provides walk throughs of current and proposes spaces as needed.
  • Coordinates key turnover.
  • Develops detailed project plans and schedules for all associated work to ensure project completion on schedule.
  • Develops scopes of work, obtains vendor quotes, creates temporary move signage and labels, oversees all move activities (including pre and post move activities).
  • Processes invoices and change orders related to transition work.
  • Develops deliverables, including written reports, presentations, budgets, schedules, and program, etc. that are tailored to meet desired outcomes and scope requirements.
  • Performs quality control activities to ensure that all work is delivered on time.
  • Manages stakeholder communication, including communications with school communities for project updates.
  • Maintains confidential and sensitive information.
  • Performs and promotes all activities in compliance with equal employment and non-discrimination policies; follows federal laws, state laws, school board policies, administrative regulations, and the professional standards.

Maximum Salary 141982.00

Minimum Salary 78856.00

Desired Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or institution in architecture, engineering, construction management, urban planning, real estate management, or related field.
  • 3-5 years' experience in logistics and project management with successful, timely deliverables and positive outcomes
  • In-depth understanding of project management concepts and methodologies, as well as general industry knowledge.
  • Ability to apply technological solutions to planning or implementation assignments.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and to link them to overall Operations Office strategies and district priorities.
  • Be self-motivated and able to prioritize assignments appropriately.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including making effective public presentations.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize changing assignments, meet deadlines, work well under pressure, and pay excellent attention to detail.

  • Proficient in technical computer applications, including electronic databases, and Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Power Point.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Skill in research, presenting, and explaining policies and procedures, assembling data, preparing reports, and formulating and presenting recommendations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and develop and maintain strong working relationships with school system employees and managers at all levels, as well as government agencies and community stakeholders.
  • Valid non-commercial class C driver's license
