Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Air Condition Shop: Perform diagnostic and routine maintenance and repairs on bus and automotive air conditioning and associated electrical systems to include component and/or system overhaul. Work independently without direct supervision. Body Shop: Participate in the inspection, maintenance, repair, fabrication, welding, wood work, fiberglass, and rehabilitation of vehicle structural assemblies, vehicle bodies, chassis and other company equipment. Using skills with hand tools and equipment, and working knowledge of metals and body repair supplies, plan and perform the work required to repair body damage due to accident, corrosion, metal fatigue, etc. Brake Shop: Perform inspections and maintenance, diagnosis and repair, overhauling and servicing of transit vehicle brake-related systems. Electric Shop: Perform diagnostic functional tests, failure analysis and specification rebuilding on all electrical/electronic components related to and associated with the current and future bus fleets. Journeyman Tradesperson: Designs, fabricates, installs, safely maintains and repairs a variety of mechanical and electrical systems, equipment and appurtenant fixtures; performs skilled work in the installation, testing, maintenance and repair of operational equipment, machinery, pumps, lifts, etc.; and performs other facility-related trades duties as required. Running Repair: Perform inspections and maintenance, diagnosis and repair, overhauling and servicing of transit vehicles. Vehicle Communications (Radio Shop): Safely participate in the maintenance, including inspecting, testing, adjusting, repairing, design, modification, and installation of communication equipment and electrical systems in all company vehicles, stationary equipment, and permanent locations, including radio tower locations (transmitters, receivers, automated passenger counters, and surveillance systems, etc.). Paratransit Mechanic Perform inspections, repairs, overhaul maintenance and servicing of gasoline and diesel vans, and other automotive equipment and their components.
