Our client, a thriving multidisciplinary consulting firm that offers services nationwide, is looking for a Transportation Design Engineer to be an integral part of their design team. The ideal candidate will have 1-10 years of relevant experience and bring a strong foundation in civil engineering, with proven skills in road, highway, and trail design. An Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate is preferred, though equivalent transportation design experience will be considered. We're looking for someone who is analytical, organized, and a natural problem-solver with excellent communication skills and a passion for delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions. This is a temporary position with the potential for full-time employment located in Vancouver, Washington. Assist with construction administration tasks, both in-office and on-site. Participate in the design and delivery of roadway infrastructure projects of varying size and complexity. Collaborate on multidisciplinary teams in both support and lead roles. Utilize design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D or Bentley MicroStation OpenRoads for project tasks. Perform detailed CAD-based design, including roadway geometric design and corridor modeling. Prepare deliverables, including quantity calculations, cost estimates, specifications, and construction schedules. Conduct quality control checks to ensure compliance with codes and design standards, following QA/QC procedures. Travel occasionally for construction inspection and site visits, with flexibility for overnight and weekend stays. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field preferred; relevant transportation design experience may be considered in lieu of formal education Familiarity with AASHTO, MUTCD, NACTO, and state DOT design manuals is advantageous Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation OpenRoads Competency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving abilities Self-motivated, independent, and results-driven Ability to meet tight deadlines and collaborate with geographically dispersed teams Work sponsorship is not available at this time.
