Our client is seeking a Construction Safety Manager 5 to join their team.

**Job Title:** Construction Safety Manager 5

**Location: Boydton, VA**

**Pay Range:** **$76.00/hr. - $83.00/hr.**

Summary:

The main function of a supervisor/manager production is to supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers. This resource will also potentially be needed periodically to respond to a site to intervene when there is an increase in safety incidents. Currently the Construction Safety Managers respond to the site to perform a deep dive and help facilitate an improvement strategy. This Senior Safety Manager may be utilized to support the coordination and implementation of these SMPs and / or to support other high level programmatic procedures and policies.

Job Responsibilities:

+ Implement measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.

+ Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems.

+ Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, and maintenance to detect production problems.

+ Hire, train, evaluate, and discharge staff, and resolve personal grievances.

+ Set and monitor product standards to ensure quality finished products.

+ Prepare and maintain production reports and personnel records.

Skills:

+ Verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.

+ Ability to work independently and manage ones time.

+ Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

+ Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.

+ Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.

Education/Experience:

+ High school diploma or GED required. Associate's degree in business or related field preferred.

+ 10+ years experience required.

+ Daily schedule and OT estimate: M F 40 hours per week & no OT

+ Surrounding team & key projects Overseeing data center construction project at the location. Ensuring that they are following safety protocols and making sure everyone stays safe.

+ Reason for the request They need a safety manager to help support the data center site. There are numerous employees that they will be overseeing and making sure no safety incidents occur on the construction site.

+ Typical task breakdown and rhythm - 40% Walking the job site twice a day, they would offices inside construction trailer, 20% engage in some meetings (High risk activity meetings), and weekly client meetings they need to attend. 40% most of this work will be in the field and coordinating with contractor in regard to the client safety requirements.

Years of experience required - They are looking for 10+ years of experience as a Safety professional. Expecting to come in and hit the ground running and not be trained on how to manage as safety program. There is guidance but expect others to hit the ground running

Degrees or certifications required No degree but a OSHA 500 certification is required.

Best vs. average - Ideally data center construction experience would be ideal. Interworking knowledge or being part of data center safety is huge. Someone who has great experience around electrical safety or lock out/tag out stuff would be ideal.

Performance indicators - It is by the incident rate; low incident rates are ideal and that will be how performance will be measured. The lower the rate, the better the candidate will perform in this role. The general contractor is responsible for the safety program on the construction site, the MFST representative ensure they are following the MFST core guidelines. MFST guide them on things that are safety related. They are measured on engagement with contractors and overall working towards lowering their rates.
