Supervisor, Shipping

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee Shipping Operations: Manage the daily operations of the shipping department, including scheduling, loading, and dispatching shipments to ensure timely delivery.
• Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and motivate a team of warehouse workers, including forklift operators, and drivers, to achieve departmental goals.
• Inventory Management: Coordinate with inventory control teams to ensure accurate stock levels and proper handling of goods during shipping.
• Process Optimization: Develop and implement efficient shipping procedures to improve productivity, reduce errors, and lower costs.
• Compliance and Safety: Ensure all shipping activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including safety standards and transportation laws.
• Quality Control: Monitor the condition of outgoing shipments to ensure products meet quality standards and are properly packaged to prevent damage.
• Documentation: Oversee the preparation of shipping documents, including bills of lading, invoices, and customs paperwork for international shipments.
• Customer Service: Collaborate with customer service teams to address shipping-related inquiries or issues, ensuring high customer satisfaction.
• Performance Tracking: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery rates, shipping accuracy, and cost efficiency, and report findings to management.
• Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all shipping equipment, such as forklifts are maintained and operated safely.

Work Environment

• The role is based in a warehouse setting, with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
