Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with technical support centers in South East Asia and East Africa, that provide program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.

The Technical Writer is responsible for developing clear, accurate, and professional documentation that supports project deliverables across various technical domains. This includes drafting and editing reports, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), training materials, and other formal documents to ensure consistency, clarity, and compliance with established documentation standards. The role requires close collaboration with subject matter experts and project leads to verify content accuracy and tailor messaging for diverse audiences, including local stakeholders.

This is a nationwide project, and we need someone who is willing to travel and take on assignments at various project sites across the country.

This position is contingent upon the award of the contract

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, edit, and maintain project documentation such as reports, SOPs, training manuals, and formal deliverables.
  • Ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with organizational documentation standards.
  • Coordinate with technical leads and team members to gather accurate and up-to-date inputs.
  • Support localization and translation of materials for stakeholders in the Philippines.
  • Review and revise existing documents to meet evolving project requirements and stakeholder feedback.
  • Track submission deadlines and maintain version control across all documentation.
  • Format documents using approved templates and style guides.
  • Assist in developing visual aids, charts, or infographics for technical materials and presentations.

Qualifications to be successful in the role :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Technical Writing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in writing technical or operational documentation for international or government-related projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Tagalog, with the ability to adapt complex information for diverse audiences.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and formatting tools (e.g., Word styles, templates).
  • Excellent attention to detail, grammar, and document structure.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience working collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with structured documentation practices, version control, and formal approval workflows. .
