Plow Truck and Plow Equipment Operator
Pay Status: W-2 Employee. Exempt from overtime
Pay Schedule: Twice per month
Expected Hours: Dependent on snow. On Call. 8-10 hours/day, 8 days per month minimum
Dates of Employment: On Call from November 1, 2025 - April 30, 2026
Salary Range: $3,000.00 - $4,000 per month. Sale commission $25.00 per sale

Bross Overview and Job Summary
At Bross Mechanical our goal is to provide better plow services than most. This means we are out early every snow day, plowing once per day whenever the Bross Mechanical owner states which is typically when snow accumulates to three inches or more. Plow services clear driveways and parking areas fully. Employees of Bross Mechanical are expected to plow each account with care, caution, and precision.
Job Summary:
- Plow snow off residential and commercial driveways, parking areas, and roads.
- Operate Bross owned equipment, most commonly a truck with a plow, to complete the assigned plow route. A skid steer or tractor with plow or blower equipment operation may be necessary for certain locations.
- The job dates and hours are determined by the weather. Employee is on-call for the entire season: November 1, 2025 - April 30, 2026.
- Expected hours are 8-10 hours per day, 8 days per month. 64 hours per month minimum shall be expected to work by the Employee. Hours may be used by Bross Mechanical in other means such as vehicle maintenance and equipment transportation and will be communicated to the Employee.
Required personal equipment:
- Charged cell phone
- Cell phone charger with D/C adapter
- Work and weather appropriate attire including boots and gloves
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Minimum Requirement
- Valid state issued driver's license;
- Employee must reside within a 45 minute drive time of Breckenridge, CO
- Previous truck plowing experience preferable but not required;
- Employee must be approved by Brosss Vehicle Insurance;
- Motivation to contribute positively to the Bross community;
- Strong work ethic
- Willingness to work until the job is complete;
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks;
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions such as a plow route list and map;
- Willingness to learn and adjust to the needs of the company and/or clients;
- Ability to provide your location and estimated remaining time of the route when requested;
- Communicate effectively regarding needs, expectations, and issues;
- Provide quality customer service when interacting with clients.
Physical Demands of this Position
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers to feel, handle, or hold objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms and talk and hear. The employee often drives in forward and reverse for 8-10 hours per day, but may be required to drive or stand longer in certain situations. The employee must be able to lift and carry at least 75 pounds for an extended duration. The employee is frequently required to travel for extended periods over rugged terrain and in adverse driving conditions. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, the ability to adjust focus, and drive before and after dark.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Employees must work as a team to accomplish the plow routes on snow days. The Plow Driver must work as many hours as are required to accomplish the plow route. The Plow Driver must work as many days in the month as are required to plow on snow days whenever requested by the owner of Bross Mechanical, typically after three inches of accumulation. The Employee is expected to begin plow routes at 4:00 AM after each snow event accumulates three inches or more of snow and shall take responsibility for checking the snow accumulation and/or communicating with owner, Jim Tully, to determine if each day is a Plow Day. Employees should be prepared to plow their route even during unexpected hours as Jim Tully may request you to plow on a light snow day.
Bross Mechanical will utilize employees for other tasks in light snow months. The Plow Driver shall expect to work a minimum of two days each week or eight days each month. Other tasks may include but are not limited to truck maintenance, mechanical services, transportation, equipment pick up, or push backs.
Trucks and Bross Equipment must be used for Bross assignments only. The Bross truck may be stored at the Employee residence or Bross will provide a location the employee can pick up a truck daily. The trucks block heater shall be plugged in when stored. Only Bross Employees are authorized to operate Bross owned vehicles and equipment. Employees shall refer customer questions and complaints to Jim Tully.
Communication is key. Bross Mechanical requires immediate communication in the event any property is damaged, there are any mechanical issues with Bross equipment, or any other incident occurs.
A gas card will be provided for vehicle expenses only. Receipts must be collected and provided to Bross Mechanical at the end of each month.
Fuel Refill Vehicle Checks shall be conducted at each fuel refill.
Vehicle oil must be checked;
Visual inspection of tires, lights, fluids, plow, plow rams, hoses, and gauges.
Vehicle Log shall be conducted and recorded once per week.
Vehicle log checklist is provided with the vehicle
NOTE: Alcohol and drug use is strictly prohibited while performing the duties of this job. Should any incident invalidate the Employee drivers license, the Employee must disclose this information immediately to Jim Tully.
