Construction Estimator

An Estimator is needed for a leading home builder in the Jacksonville, FL. Key responsibilities include interpreting plans and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates, managing budgets, and auditing base house job costs. The Estimator will also solicit and evaluate subcontractor bids, support pre-construction planning, and maintain vendor relationships to enhance pricing and efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of residential estimating, purchasing, or project management experience. Proficiency with Planswift and Excel is essential, and a background in reading construction documents and generating accurate cost estimates is required. A degree in Construction Management or Engineering is a plus.

• Interpret blueprints, specifications, and scopes of work to prepare cost estimates.
  
  
• Create and manage budgets including labor, materials, subcontractors, and equipment.
  
  
• Review and audit base house job budgets for accuracy.
  
  
• Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate bids from suppliers and subcontractors.
  
  
• Collaborate with pre-construction and project teams to support planning and execution.
  
  
• Maintain vendor relationships and identify opportunities to improve estimating processes.
