We are seeking a skilled Construction Welder to join our dynamic team. This position primarily involves stick welding, with occasional MIG welding tasks. You will be responsible for preparing layouts, erecting frameworks for structures, installing ceilings and walls, signaling operators, and performing various construction-related tasks as needed. Responsibilities Perform stick and MIG welding tasks as necessary. Prepare and interpret layouts and blueprints for construction projects. Erect frameworks for structures and install ceilings and walls. Signal operators and coordinate with team members on-site. Undertake additional construction-related tasks as assigned. Essential Skills Minimum of 6 months experience in construction and welding. Proficiency in welding, preferably stick or MIG. Skillful use of hand and power tools. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Competence in general labor and construction tasks. Capability in troubleshooting and metal finishing. Additional Skills & Qualifications AWS welding certification preferred but not required. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Comfortable working in various weather conditions. Work Environment Operate in a commercial construction environment with teams of 3-10 people on-site. Standard working hours are 7 am-4 pm Monday to Friday, with variations depending on the season and project demands. Dress code includes boots, jeans, and a t-shirt or sweatshirt. For certain projects, travel to locations such as Ames, Des Moines, or Huxley, IA may be required. Team members living close to the Ames shop can travel in a company van. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
