Have you ever wanted to help lead satellite ground systems development efforts for a high-performance Low Earth Orbit constellation? We are looking for a hands-on RF Hardware Development Engineer to support the execution of development efforts that will lead us to high-rate production, installation, and monitoring of Kuiper ground systems equipment.

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Key job responsibilities
Work with industry leading suppliers and other Kuiper Engineering teams to ensure internal and external hardware and RF requirements are met for the development and production of Gateway and TT&C terminals.

Support the delivery and installation of critical ground systems RF hardware to support the launch and deployment of Kuiper satellites.
Perform analyses, prepare documentation, and conduct presentations for parabolic LEO TT&C and Gateway Terminal systems.

Create plans and schedules that have clear, measurable success criteria, and clearly communicate progress and outcomes with leadership.

Work closely with implementation teams to troubleshoot issues, perform data driven analysis of results, and make recommendations for improvements and corrective actions to fielded RF hardware.

Relentlessly simplify and demonstrate significant innovation, creativity, and good judgment when solving challenging problems.

Drive best practices on the team, deal with ambiguity and competing objectives, and proactively identify and mitigate risks before they become roadblocks.

Write effective narratives and present them concisely and effectively to senior management.

About the team
The Ground Systems team is developing globally located high data rate satellite communication terminals which operate off of automated software driven systems and which maintain critical connectivity from the ground to the complete Kuiper constellation. This team is driving the development, deployment and long-term operability of Kuiper ground station terminals.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or similar Engineering field.
- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of hardware development experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
- Master's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or similar Engineering field.
- Experience developing or managing RF or embedded systems

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $128,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $213,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
