Weld Helper/Fitters Needed in Ashland City, TN Job Description As a weld helper, you will come in before the welders to lay out materials and prepare for welding, including laying down tack welds. This involves reading blueprints, measuring materials, and ensuring everything is ready for welders to complete their tasks. You will be on your feet for the entire shift and moving throughout the plant as needed. Responsibilities Lay out materials and prepare for welding. Tack welding. Read blueprints and measure materials accurately. Coordinate with welders and ensure materials are ready for welding. Move throughout the plant to ensure smooth operations. Essential Skills Experience with welding. Proficiency in reading blueprints. Ability to measure materials accurately. Experience with stainless steel, carbon steel, and structural steel. 3-6 months of previous welding experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications Successful completion of a weld test for interview (1-5F). Ability to attend a two-week onsite weld school, if offered. Steel-toed ankle-high leather boots required. Long sleeves and pants required; no contact lenses due to smoke from welding. Why Work Here?
