Shear Operator

Shear Operator Job Description Join our architectural sheet metal shop where you will set up and operate power shear machines to cut steel, aluminum, and other materials. You will perform blade changes, conduct quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, and measuring tape, and program machines to ensure precision. Heavy lifting is required, including sliding, flipping, and lifting full-length sheet metal throughout the day. Responsibilities Set up and operate power shear machines. Cut steel, aluminum, and various materials. Perform blade changes and conduct quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, and measuring tape. Program machines and layout parts without drawings. Make modifications as needed. Handle heavy lifting, including sliding, flipping, and lifting full-length sheet metal. Essential Skills Experience with shear machines. Ability to interpret blueprints. Proficiency in sheet metal fabrication. 3 years of layout and operation experience in a machine shop. Ability to program machines. Work Environment Work in a large, open area with a small team of approximately 25 people. Experience the familial atmosphere of a family-run and owned business, with 8 colleagues in the office and the remainder in the shop. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rogers, Minnesota. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $29.00/hr.
