Maintenance Mechanic

Maintenance Mechanic Job Description We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for repairing and maintaining industrial machinery, including conveyors, shrink wrappers, stackers, ovens, sorters, power transmission systems, and palletizers. This role requires a strong ability to troubleshoot and repair hydraulics and perform MIG and Stick welding on steel materials. Responsibilities Repair and maintain industrial machinery such as conveyors, shrink wrappers, stackers, ovens, sorters, power transmission systems, and palletizers. Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems. Perform MIG and Stick welding on steel materials. Swap out AC/DC motors and handle basic electrical tasks involving 480V systems. Work around PLCs safely and efficiently. Interpret blueprints and diagrams accurately. Realign and adjust mechanical components as needed. Cut, thread, and install new pipes. Adhere to lockout/tagout procedures for safety. Essential Skills High School Diploma Troubleshooting and preventative maintenance of production equipment. Experience with hydraulics. Proficiency in MIG and Stick welding. Ability to lift 50+ pounds. Additional Skills & Qualifications Apprenticeship or certified training is preferred. Experience with blueprints is beneficial. Work Environment Work in a dynamic, non-temperature regulated paper mill specializing in manufacturing burrito bowls and drink carriers. Be prepared to work in varying temperatures. The work schedule rotates with shifts from 11p-7a, 3p-11p, and 7a-3p, with specific days off in between. The dress code includes steel-toed boots, work uniform, safety glasses, and a hair net. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Hammond, Indiana. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $76128.00 - $76128.00/yr. USW - Union Benefits. Strong benefits package that covers all the majors and more. Employees will have the option to choose their package based on dependents and deductibles.
