The Quality Operations Manager, Control Points is responsible for driving excellence in both quality operations and project launch readiness within the manufacturing environment. This highly visible role bridges project coordination, cross-functional leadership, and quality system implementation to ensure successful vehicle launches and in-station process control. The ideal candidate brings a unique blend of operational rigor, quality mindset, and strategic foresight to elevate production readiness and product excellence.

You Will:

  • Implement and continuously improve Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma processes to eliminate waste and elevate in-station quality control
  • Drive robust defect containment, escalation, and resolution processes-ensuring issues are driven back to point of origin
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and workstation layouts in alignment with quality control standards and ergonomic best practices
  • Develop and implement comprehensive training plans for supervisors and team members to ensure competency in inspection and control methods
  • Specify and deploy tooling, equipment, and inspection systems to meet current and future quality assurance needs
  • Act as a key stakeholder in developing and deploying policies, processes, and specifications in coordination with Engineering and Manufacturing teams
  • Promote a culture where quality is embedded into every process and where all employees understand how their work contributes to customer satisfaction

Leadership & Engagement

  • Build and lead a high-performing team with a strong culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Set clear goals and performance metrics; drive engagement through transparent communication and recognition of team contributions
  • Foster strong cross-functional partnerships with Engineering, Manufacturing, Program Management, and other key stakeholders
  • Serve as a visible champion for safety, quality, and operational excellence throughout the organization

Launch Readiness & Program Coordination

  • Lead cross-functional launch readiness activities to ensure timely and effective deployment of new products, features, or capabilities
  • Propose and evaluate production capacity scenarios in alignment with annual vehicle volume targets, considering shift models, line rates, and buffer capacity
  • Maintain and communicate detailed project timelines and status reports; drive alignment through regular program updates to senior leadership
  • Track critical milestones in alignment with the Master Program Schedule; document and escalate issues through structured Open Issues reviews
  • Serve as the point of contact for coordinating departmental issues during launch, leading discussions on prioritization, ownership, and resolution timing
  • Organize and facilitate effective meetings across teams to address launch blockers and maintain forward momentum
  • Capture, document, and drive follow-up on meeting action items, ensuring accountability across functions

You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field required (Master's degree preferred)
  • Minimum 8+ years of progressive experience in Quality, Manufacturing, or Project Management within the automotive industry
  • Strong background in production launch readiness, capacity planning, and cross-functional program coordination
  • Proven ability to lead and influence in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement methodologies (Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma); Lean or Six Sigma certification preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise in quality control systems, inspection methods, and manufacturing process standardization
  • Skilled in presentation, written, and verbal communication across all organizational levels
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%, occasionally on short notice
