DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will be responsible for welding, brazing, and cutting both ferrous and non-ferrous metals to support various projects, ranging from fences and highway bridges to engines and utility distribution systems. Your duties will involve exercising independent judgment to determine the most effective work methods and procedures, prioritizing tasks, and collaborating with your supervisor to decide whether to execute work in-house or through contracts, ensuring optimal utilization of our equipment. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of experience in the operation and use of welding equipment, materials, and related shop equipment to repair, maintain, or fabricate parts, equipment, or structures; or
  • Completion of a three-year, high school Vo-Tech training program in welding and eighteen months of experience in the operation and use of welding equipment, materials, and related shop equipment to repair, maintain, or fabricate parts, equipment, or structures; or
  • Completion of an approved welder apprentice program; or
  • A welding certificate D1.1 from the American Welding Society; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirement:

  • This position requires possession of an active Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must have experience with using, operating and maintaining Mig Welder, Spool Gun, Oxy-Acetylene Torch and Plasma Cutter.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
