Machine Operator**

**Job Description**

We are seeking a dedicated Machine Operator to join our team on the swing shift from Monday to Thursday, 3:45 PM to 3:45 AM. As a Machine Operator, you will assist in machining large metal parts for production and will become proficient in operating a 4-axis horizontal mill. This role is integral to a process-driven shop that produces approximately 1,200 parts a month, with run cycle times ranging from one hour to five minutes.

**Responsibilities**

+ Operate and assist in the machining of large metal parts.

+ Become proficient in operating a 4-axis horizontal mill.

+ Change inserts and maintain cleanliness around the machine.

+ Read blueprints and use hand and measurement tools.

+ Run production set-ups and use tooling, fixturing, and segment selection for grinders.

+ Adjust machine settings for bandsaws and other machinery.

+ Position jigs or attachments on machines to cut stock to size.

+ Verify dimensions of cut stock and maintain precision.

**Essential Skills**

+ 1-3 years of machining experience.

+ Proficiency with hand tools, calipers, and micrometers.

+ Basic math comprehension, including measurements down to thousandths.

+ Mechanical aptitude and interest in becoming a production machinist.

+ Comfortable working in an industrial manufacturing environment.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

+ Experience running 24" and 36" grinders.

+ Experience with production run set-ups and safety procedures for grinders.

+ Ability to lift 50-75 lbs.

+ Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

**Work Environment**

The position is located in an open industrial machine shop with open bay doors, approximately 0.5 miles from the headquarters. The environment is dynamic and requires adherence to safety protocols.

**Pay and Benefits**

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $26.00/hr.
