Blanchard Grinder**

**Job Description**

Join our team as a Blanchard Grinder, working either the Day Shift (Monday to Thursday, 5am to 3:45pm) or the Weekend Shift (Friday to Sunday, 5:00am to 5:30pm). You will play a crucial role in our production process, operating grinding machinery to ensure the highest quality steel parts.

**Responsibilities**

+ Operate a grinding cell, grinding steel parts weighing up to 450lbs.

+ Train to operate jib and overhead cranes for safe parts movement.

+ Study blueprints and machining instructions to plan grinding operations.

+ Compute machine indexing ratios and cam dimensions for gear teeth contour.

+ Select and secure index plates, cams, and grinding wheels.

+ Set up automatic dressing devices for wheel profiling.

+ Control synchronized rotation speeds and feed rates.

+ Position workpieces using precision tools like gauges and micrometers.

+ Direct coolant flow against wheel and workpiece.

+ Verify dimensions of ground workpieces for specification compliance.

+ Maintain work area cleanliness and manage housekeeping.

+ Develop and maintain accurate process sheets and reports.

+ Ensure high-quality production with minimal scrap.

+ Manage inventory of segments and coolant, reorder as necessary.

**Essential Skills**

+ Industrial Manufacturing Experience

+ Mechanical Aptitude

+ Mathematical Comprehension

+ Blueprint reading

+ Experience running 24" and 36" grinders

+ Experience with production run set-ups and tooling

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

+ Comfortable working in an industrial manufacturing environment

+ Ability to identify measurements down to thousandths

+ Proficiency with precision measurement instruments such as micrometers

+ Ability to lift 50-75lbs

+ Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

**Work Environment**

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilsonville, Oregon.

**Pay and Benefits**

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
