Summary:
Supervise and coordinate activity of workers engaged in construction projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Examine and inspect work progress, equipment, and construction sites to verify safety and to ensure that specifications are met.
- Read specifications, such as blueprints, to determine construction requirements or to plan procedures.
- Estimate material or worker requirements to complete jobs.
- Supervise, coordinate, or schedule the activities of construction or extractive workers.
- Confer with supervisor, managerial or technical personnel, other departments, or contractors to resolve problems or to coordinate activities.
- Coordinate work activities with other construction project activities.
- Order or requisition materials or supplies.
- Locate, measure, and mark site locations or placement of structures or equipment, using measuring and marking equipment.
- Record information such as personnel, production, or operational data on specified forms or reports.
- Assign work to employees, based on material or worker requirements of specific jobs.
- Implement and enforce safety requirements for the job. Must have completed the OSHA 30 hour construction standards training course within the last 3 years.
- Required to drive motor vehicle in performance of duties.
- Ability to walk long distances in rough or variable terrain.
- Work in extreme hot or cold environments.
- Must be able to understand and follow safety considerations herein and as applies to the activity involved.
- May be required to lift up to 80 pounds and carry objects of 50 pounds or less routinely.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Will directly supervise a crew of up to 10 workers.
Requirements:
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, documents, instructions, and procedure manuals. Routine report writing. Effective communication skills. Implement and enforce safety standards.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma preferred, one year relevant experience.
