Engineering Technician

An Engineering Technician is needed for a leading global engineering, consulting and construction company in the Overland Park, Kansas area. This role requires a diploma or associate degree in drafting or engineering design technology and at least 3 years of experience, and involves developing site drainage, grading, and utility plans using Autodesk Civil 3D and MicroStation, converting survey data into topographic drawings, and supporting multiple fast-paced projects with strong skills in communication, time management, problem-solving, and civil site layout design.

responsibilities:

• Assist in developing site drainage, grading, and utility plans using Autodesk Civil 3D.
  
  
• Collaborate on the creation of site plans, profiles, detailed engineering and construction drawings.
  
  
• Convert field survey data into topographic survey drawings and 3D surfaces.
  
  
• Interpret engineering deliverables as assigned and ensure compliance with the company's quality program.
  
  
• Stay informed on industry trends and engineering technologies.
  
  
• Apply knowledge of engineering standards, design principles, and constructability practices.
  
  
• Use document control systems and follow departmental and company procedures.

Skills:

• Ability to design grading for ponds, swales, and access roads.

• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  
  
• Passionate about civil design and teamwork.
  
  
• strong skills in civil design/site layout, particularly using: Autodesk Civil 3D (required), Bentley MicroStation (2D/3D) (preferred), AutoCAD, Bluebeam.

Education:

• Diploma or Certificate preferred.
  
  
• Associate Degree in Drafting or Engineering Design Technology preferred.
  
  
• Minimum 3 years of related work experience.
