Job Summary
Our client is seeking an Engineering Technician IV to support the development of site drainage, grading, and utility plans using Autodesk Civil 3D and MicroStation. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience, a strong passion for civil design, and proficiency in creating construction drawings, site plans, and topographic surveys in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Job Description
- Assist with the development of site drainage, grading, and utility plans using Autodesk Civil 3D. Working knowledge of Bentley MicroStation is also preferable.
- Collaborate with team members to produce site plans, detailed engineering drawings, profiles, construction drawings, and details.
- Convert field survey data into topographic survey drawings and surfaces suitable for producing site plans and construction drawings.
- Apply intermediate knowledge of engineering standards, systems, document control, departmental guides, and client policies and procedures.
- Stay updated with industry knowledge and technology trends.
- Ensure deliverables comply with the company quality program.
- Interpret engineering deliverable content as assigned.
- Understand basic construction and constructability practices and principles.
- Apply basic engineering design principles and applicable design guides related to the assigned engineering discipline.
Skills Required
- A minimum of 3 years related work experience.
- Required Software Competencies:
- Civil design/site layout experience using Civil 3D and/or MicroStation. (MUST HAVE)
- Autodesk Civil 3D
- Bentley MicroStation (2D/3D)
- Autodesk AutoCAD
- Bluebeam
- Skills:
- Passion for civil design and projects.
- Working knowledge of civil design.
- Experience in grading ponds, swales, and access roads.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Capability to support multiple ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Team-building and excellent problem-solving skills.
- No previous engineering work experience required.
Education/Training/Certifications
- Diploma or Certificate preferred.
- Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.
