Lead Carpenter**

**Job Description**

The Lead Carpenter will work under the general direction of the project manager, acting as a working manager to effectively lead multiple carpenters and subcontractors on job sites. This role involves utilizing project documents to oversee and control assigned projects, setting the pace of work, and educating field staff. The Lead Carpenter will organize daily work, inspect and correct the work of others, post daily logs, and problem-solve daily issues. A deep understanding of multiple building trades and the ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints is essential.

**Responsibilities**

+ Lead and manage carpenters and subcontractors on job sites.

+ Set the pace of work and educate field staff.

+ Organize daily work and inspect the work of others.

+ Post daily logs and project documents for subcontractors.

+ Solve daily issues and understand the scope of assigned projects.

+ Provide appropriate tools and materials to workers.

+ Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and designs.

+ Monitor crew attendance and supervise other trades.

+ Ensure resources and manpower are adequate for projects.

+ Meet quality standards and safety precautions.

+ Supervise and train crew on equipment and machinery use.

+ Report project status and issues to project manager.

**Essential Skills**

+ Proficiency in construction, carpentry, framing, finish carpentry, drywall, remodeling, and cabinetry.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and plans.

+ Strong communication skills with construction crew and office staff.

+ Multiple years of experience in multiple trades.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

+ Confidence in tasks like framing, finishing, and project management.

+ Creativity and resourcefulness in solving on-site challenges.
