About the role:As an experienced Civil/Structural Engineer II, you will support engineering design activities like calculation creation in the area of structural steel or concrete design. You will be an individual contributor using comprehensive knowledge to complete complex or specialized projects adapting to precedent. You will make departures from traditional approaches to develop solutions.
You will report to the Manager of Structural Steel, Embedment & Architectural Design. You will work hybrid at the Westinghouse Global Headquarters in Cranberry Woods, PA.
Key Responsibilities:- Civil/structural design activities like calculation creation for structural steel or concrete
- Address technical issues for fabrication, assembly, and construction like technical justification of design changes and troubleshooting of emergent issues
- On-Site support at utilities when requested
- Use analytical tools like ANSYS, LS-DYNA, and GTSTRUDL
- Maintain software compliance records and closure of engineering corrective actions
- Apply industry civil/structural codes like ACI, AISC, and AWS standards and internal company procedures
- Develop engineering sketches and markups using AutoCAD or similar CAD programs
- 5+ years of experience in civil/structural engineering, with a focus on design, analysis, and project management.
- Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD, and structural analysis tools, such as ETABS or SAP2000.
- Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards, including IBC, ASCE, and AISC.
- Experience with project management software, such as Procore or Asana, to track progress and collaborate with teams.
- Certification as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) is desirable.
