Key Areas of Focus 1. Site Design & Layout o Grading, drainage, utility layout, and stormwater management o Applying civil engineering principles to develop comprehensive site plans Leading the design process 2. Regulatory Compliance o Ensuring designs meet local, state, and federal codes o Supporting permitting processes and coordinating with agencies (especially in California) 3. Project Management o Developing schedules, budgets, and tracking milestones o Coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders 4. Client Interaction o Understanding client goals and providing updates o Addressing concerns and ensuring satisfaction o Answering echnical questions in meetings o Leading internal meetings to discuss and provide guidance on plan deliverables 5. Technical Documentation & QA/QC o Producing and reviewing design plans, calculations, and reports o Implementing quality control measures throughout the design process ____ Daily Responsibilities Drafting and refining site plans using Civil 3D and AutoCAD Performing calculations for grading, stormwater, and utilities Reviewing and redlining plans for accuracy and compliance Communicating with clients and regulatory agencies Answering technical questions in meetings. Lead internal meetings to discuss with team members and provide guidance on plan deliverables Collaborating with drafters, junior engineers, and project managers Participating in internal design reviews and QA/QC checks Preparing documentation for submittals and permits Mentoring junior staff (for PE-level engineers) Attending team meetings and coordinating across disciplines

Additional Skills & Qualifications

This role requires a strong foundation in civil engineering with a focus on land development. Candidates must be proficient in Civil 3D and AutoCAD, with the ability to independently produce grading, drainage, and utility designs. Daily responsibilities include preparing site plans, performing stormwater calculations, coordinating with clients and agencies, and reviewing design documents for QA/QC. The role also involves managing project schedules and budgets, and collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering Minimum 5 years of experience in site design or land development Must have experience w/ sets of utility improvements (e.g. redevelopment/ infill, greenfield development) Professional Engineer (PE) license (or in active pursuit) Proficiency in Civil 3D and AutoCAD Key Attributes of Success: Ability to manage both technical design and project coordination Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration Attention to detail and commitment to quality control Adaptability to work on a range of project types and scales Initiative to mentor junior staff or lead design reviews (for PE-level candidates)
